We've now got our new server up and running. You probably have been unaware of it, but it's been supporting our network for a couple of months. There's some quite cool things that it will be able to do, and we will be rolling those changes out in the coming months, but first things first, let's get you up and running for saving to your folders.

Basically the workflow is Connect, Authorise and Mount.

Here we go:

Connect:

Click on the Desktop picture or the icon on the far left of your Dock.

In the menu bar select "Go" then "Connect to Server..."

Type in the word afp://server:

Authorise:

Enter your username and password. Your teacher user name is 1st initial plus surname, all lowercase and no spaces, your password is first 4 letters of surname and 1st initial, all lowercase and no spaces. Your Class username is the word room followed by two digits, a leading zero is added for rooms lower than 10. The room password is 4 digits, the last two being your room number — again, leading zeroes apply. For example, Room 6 username and password are: room06 and 0006. Room 20 username and password are: room20 and 0020.

Mount

Choose the share points you want to mount and they will appear on your desktop. Rooms will automatically login

And that is it! Don't worry about the Backups folder at this stage.

Enjoy!
